A 31BS0LUTI0N REGARDING LMCD LONG-TERM <br />MANAGEMENT PROGRA>! FOR LAKE MINNETONKA <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of <br />Deephaven <br />Greenwood <br />Minnetonka <br />Orono <br />Spring Park <br />Tonka Bay <br />Victoria <br />Wayzata <br />represent a majority of the Lakeshore, seventy two (72) % of the <br />population, and sixty-six and one-naif (66.5) % of the budget of <br />the LMCD; and <br />WHEREAS, while these cities support the LMCD as <br />originally constituted, the Councils of each of these cities have <br />expressed their opposition to aspects of the comprehensive plan, <br />especially: <br />Shoreland Regulations <br />L Jget Process and Taxation <br />Representa tion <br />WHEREAS, the LMCD chose to adopt the comprehensive plan <br />despite significant opposition: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that these cities <br />through this resolution formally express their opposition. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that these cities will initiate <br />action to prevent implemen ation through any of the following <br />possible steps: <br />1.Deal with shoreland regulation <br />separately from the LMCD proposal. <br />re quiremen t s <br />2.Work with Legislators to prevent the implementation <br />of changes that require legislation. <br />3.Express to the Metropolitan Council opposition to <br />the comprehensive plan. <br />4.Each city review its LMCD representation and the <br />terms of such representation.
