Proposed Resolution of Opposition <br />B. LMCD Memo Dated 11/20/90 <br />ISSUE - Determine level of support by Council for Attachment A. <br />INTRODUCTION - In anticipation of the LMCD orientation meeting of <br />Wednesday, December 12, 1990, seven of the cities met at Wayzata <br />City Hall on December 6th with a representative of LMCD also in <br />atteii'.jnce. In attendance from Orono were Ed Callahan, Gabriel <br />Jabbour and myself. <br />After discussion of concerns and possible a^'enues of action the <br />attached resolution was developed at the meeting to express the <br />concerns of the group together with the possible addition of <br />Victoria. Orono did indicate that it did have concerns with the <br />plan beyond those outlined in the resolution. <br />Is has been requested orono that Wayzata tape the presentation <br />in their Counci'’ Chamb on December 12, 1990. This could allow <br />for future re' n i eeded. <br />As part of thi i>ssion it is anticipated that the group would: <br />a.) Solicite the support of other LMCD members not in <br />attendance . <br />b.) Meet with Legislature and Metro Council <br />representatives on various aspects regarding the plan. <br />c.) Ascertain to see if the plan can be reconsidered. <br />d.) Determine if the indivir'' ai desires to alter its <br />representation. <br />In addition the group would la, review whether it is <br />appropriate to do anything as to the rinancial contributions to <br />LMCD. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1. Adopt as presented. <br />2. Amend and adopt. <br />3. Table.
