Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br />Dear Commission Members: <br />i‘^1 <br />NOV 8 iflgo' <br />On behalf of Irwin Jacobs, I would ask that the comm/^ion consider a variance for the <br />construction of a 2,604 square foot greenhouse on the 2.7 acre Millston subdivision, owned <br />by Mr. Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs wishes to construct this greeniiouse to provide his fulltime <br />gardener with the ability to start annuals in the winter months for spring planting. While <br />the size of the proposed 2,604 square foot greenhouse may seem large, Mr. Jacob ’s 31 acre <br />estate located adjacent to the 2.7 acre parcel, currently has 4,076 square feet of flower bed <br />area throughout the grounds and Mr. Jacobs wishes to e.xpand his flower beds next year by <br />an additional 2,310 square feet, for a total of 6,386 square feet of flower bed area. As you <br />can see, the proposed greenhouse is conservative in size to accommodate the existing flower <br />beds. <br />Should the commission feel it necessary to combine the adjoining 2.7 acre parcel with the <br />31 acre parcel, Mr. Jacobs would be in agreement w'ith this solution. <br />The use of this greenhouse would be for the sole purpose of providing this estate with plants <br />and flowers for its own use and does not represent any form of commercial venture. <br />Thank you for your consideration. <br />Sincerely, <br />fames N.
