I went on a historical tour of Big Island with the Lake Minnetonka Historical Society this past summer. We boarded in Excelsior and our package included a series of downloaded photos of historical buildings and sites on Big Island. As we broke into small groups with a tour guide we were able to hear the narrative and "see" what was once there on our phones. Since Orono purchased this land, I would like to see some kind of collaboration with the LMHS that gets people out to the island. Most residents of Orono do not have this luxury. The interview process is an opportunity for the council to get to know more about a candidate and their reasons for wanting to be on a particular commission or committee.
