AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: February 24, 2025 <br />Title: Street Improvements - Brown Road N (25-002) - Award <br />Presenter: Adam Edwards, City Administrator / Engineer <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br />Item: 7 <br />Purpose: <br />The purpose of this action item is to award the contract for the Brown Road North Maintenance <br />Project (25-002). <br />2. Background: <br />At the July 8, 2024 Council Work Session, the council directed staff to proceed with design for the <br />Brown Road North Maintenance Project. Since then Staff and our consulting firm have been <br />working on the design and bid package for the project. Brown Road North is a Municipal State <br />Aid (MSA) Road. As such the city receives state aid funding for its maintenance. State Aid <br />revenues come from the state gas tax. As a MSA project MnDOT State Aid is required to review <br />the design which they have done and granted approval. Staff received bids on February 13, 2025. <br />3. Scope: <br />The project consists of the reclamation of the existing pavement, new pavement, and repairs to <br />existing concrete curbs and stormwater infrastructure. <br />4. Cost: <br />The city received nine bids. The Bid Summary is in Exhibit A. The low bid for $ 413,246.05 is <br />from Valley Paving, Inc. In addition to the construction cost, Bolton and Menk provided a <br />proposal not to exceed $ 43,000 for construction oversight.
