Metropolitan Hi;^hway System Facilities <br />The information in this section is derived from the revised policy plan, <br />from interagency corridor studies, and information from the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation. This section of the systems statement <br />identifies the metropolitan highway system facilities within Orono, <br />summarizes current and anticipated 2010 roadway characteristics, and <br />indicates programmed and planned improvements that are consistent with the <br />Council's policy plan. Orono's comprehensive plan transportation element <br />should address the information contained here. <br />The metropolitan highway system is shown in Figure 1. Appendix F of the <br />Transportation Development Guide/Policy Plan describes the functional <br />classification of these roadways, interstate freeways and other principal <br />arterials, as well as local highways and roads. <br />The following portions of the metropolitan highway system lie within Orono:
