Flexible Benefits Memo Dated 9/4/90 <br />ISSUE - Adoption of the plan for implementation of Section 125 <br />Flexible Benefits Plan. <br />INTRODUCTION - At the Council's September 10, 1990 meeting the <br />City chose to go with the Safe Benefits program. <br />DISCUSSION - The necessary documents have been developed and the <br />initial document reviewed by the City's Attorney for <br />acceptability within the costs outlined in Attachment C. He is <br />currently reviewing the final documents. Once adopted a <br />presentation will be made to employees the end of November with <br />enrollment the first week of December in order to have it <br />effective for the first of January. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1. Accept the plan as presented. <br />2. Amend and accept. <br />3. Table for further discussion. <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended that the program be adopted as <br />presented within the bounds pre ausly established if the final <br />documents are acceptable from a legal standpoint. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by _, seconded by _, Council adopt <br />Attachments A and B as its plan for Section 125 program.
