CITY of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 54—. <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER <br />TO COMPLETE A STORM WATER STUDY <br />OF THE CITY'S INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT <br />WHEREAS, the City has several properties in its industrial district that are considering <br />expanded development; and <br />WHEREAS, expanded development requires the management of the increased storm <br />water drainage resulting from the development; and <br />WHEREAS, as part of the New Highway 12 Project, Mn/DOT is constructing a series of <br />storm water facilities to manage storm water from properties along the corridor; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the facilities being constructed by Mn/DOT, is a storm water pond <br />• (Kenobi Pond) located east of and adjacent to the southeast corner of the Morrie's Autocare <br />property; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono will be responsible for the long term maintenance of <br />Kenobi Pond; and <br />WHEREAS, Kenobi Pond is to be sized to accommodate the storm water flows from the <br />industrial district, as well as from the storm water pond on the north side of Highway 12 which <br />collects the storm water from the area between Willow Drive and Old Crystal Bay Road; and <br />WHEREAS, it is important to be clear about the capacity of Kenobi Pond as it relates to <br />the development potential of the industrial district. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Orono <br />does hereby authorize the City Engineer to complete a storm water study of the industrial district. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota, at a regular meeting held <br />June 26, 2006. <br />ATTEST: <br />• ii!7z i r <br />Linda'S.
