PAUL A. WALDRON, CODES CONSULTANT
1222.5 - 62nd Street
Wacunia, Minnewta 55387
(n12) 446-1786
M.P.C.A.
Certification Number 550
June 16, 1986
Ms. Jean Martineau
589 Bryant Street
Maple Plain, MN 55359
RE: Soil Percolation Tests Jab #86-35P
at- Lot 3, Block 1
Chippewa Addition
City of Orono, Minnesota
I was retained by Jean Martineau to conduct percolation tests on
this property, in order to provide criteria for the design and
installation of an individual sanitary sewage treatment system to
handle the sewage flow generated by water -use appliances within a
single family dwelling.
A total of six (6) soil percoldtion tests were performed on June
10, 1986, at a representative _area on the property.
In addition, ten 8 -foot deep soil borings were drilled with a 2"
i.d. x 3 1/4" o.d. continuous boring auger to chP:k: for the
position of the ground water table and to identify the underlying
soil types. Location of tests and borings are shown on the site
plan.
The percolation tests were performed in accordance with the
provisions of W.P.C.-40 "Individual Sewage System Standards."
The percolation tests holes were drilled to a conventional depth
of between 12 and 25 inches with a 5" 1.d. x 6" ..d. auger. Two
inches of pea gravel were placed in the bottom of each hole to
prevent scoring. Water was then added to the test holes and
replenished as necessary, maintaining a 12 -inch head of water
over the bottom. After a period of saturation, each hole was
refilled to a 6 -inch head of water over the bottom, and the
percolation tests commenced.
