Lake Street <br />Wayzata, MIT 55391 <br />RE: Wayzata - LMCD Plan <br />Dear Gene: <br />We are herewith formally transmitting a paper which the City <br />of Wayzata has prepared in an attempt to convey the <br />directions and philosophies which we believe the Shorcland <br />Protection Chapter of the LMCD's Long Tern Management Program <br />(September 1990) needs to reflect. This is accompanied by a <br />table style summary, prepared by Mark Bernhardson, the Orono <br />city Manager, which briefly outlines the message which we are <br />trying to communicate. <br />At the outset, we wish to stress that this information is <br />offered in a positive context. We share the LMCD's concern <br />to move this matter along and to gain a consensus of Lake <br />Minnetonka communities on the plan. In this regard, we are <br />greatly appreciative of the tabling of the Shoreland <br />Protection Chapter and the opportunity offered for a cities <br />based resolution of the issue. <br />In the attached material, we have not addressed the <br />introductory text of the shoreland protection chapter. While <br />we believe this material may need to be modified to reflect <br />the concepts and approach we are suggesting, time limits have <br />limited our ability to address such details. We have, <br />however, cited thz lmcd's shoreland protection goals and <br />indicated a general level of satisfaction with these <br />statements. Our primary focus has, therefore, been the
