• <br />• <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO <br />TOM KUEHN, UPON HIS RETIREMENT, <br />FOR NEARLY 30 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE <br />TO THE CITY OF ORONO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5454 <br />WHEREAS, Tom Kuehn has served the City of Orono as Finance <br />Director -Treasurer for nearly 30 years; and <br />WHEREAS, Tom's years with the City have been marked by a strong <br />commitment to the best interests of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, Tom has earned both the respect and friendship of those in <br />his profession; and <br />WHEREAS, under Tom's leadership, the City has, for the past 18 years in <br />a row, earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial <br />Reporting, the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and <br />financial reporting; and <br />WHEREAS, Tom's fiscal leadership also played a key role in enabling <br />the City to become one of only five cities in the country with a population less <br />than 10,000 to earn a Aaa bond rating, the highest rating possible; and <br />WHEREAS, Tom is retiring from his position with the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council ofthe <br />City of Orono does hereby express its sincere appreciation to Tom Kuehn for his <br />dedicated service to the City, and does highly commend him for the manner in which <br />he has carried out his duties and responsibilities. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council does hereby extend <br />to Tom its best wishes for a long, healthy and happy retirement. <br />Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held <br />this 24th day of April, 2006. <br />ATT ST: <br />• Li da S.
