Brady and Lynn A. Brady, husband and wife <br />(hereinafter "the applicants") are the owners of the property located at 3555 Frederick <br />Street within the City of Orono (hereinafter the "City") and legally described as follows: <br />Lot 12, Block 2, Navarre, Hennepin County, Minnesota <br />(hereinafter the "property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have made application to the City of Orono <br />for a variance to Orono Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-350 (b) to allow the <br />construction of an attached garage and a half story over the existing home 5.5' from the <br />side lot line where 10' is required and 5.5' currently exists; and <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have made application to the City of Orono <br />for a variance to Orono Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-1288 (b) to allow 2,816 s.f. or <br />35% hardcover within the 75'-250' setback zone where 25% is normally allowed and <br />2,485 s.f. or 30.9% currently exists, in conjunction with the addition of an attached <br />garage and half story addition. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of. <br />Orono, Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #06-3172. <br />2. The property is located in the LR -1C One Family Lakeshore Residential <br />Zoning District which requires a minimum of 0.5 acre in area and a <br />minimum lot width of 100'. <br />3. The Planning Commission reviewed this application at a public hearing <br />held on February 21, 2006 and March 20, 2006 and recommended <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />
