Motion passed. <br />WETLANDS <br />Bernhardson reviewed the information in his memo dated <br />September 14, 1990. He stated that the wetland regulations the <br />C ty of Orono currently has are efficient in protecting the <br />wetlands. He said, "Revising the present standards to increase <br />protection may cause greater problems in the balance of the <br />community. <br />Goetten agreed that the City has adequate measures for <br />wetland protection. She questioned whether it is necessary to <br />more clearly define wetlands versus the flood plain. <br />Peterson asKed Bernhardson whether he <br />Councilmember Callahan regarding this issue. <br />had spoken to <br />Bernhardson replied, "I did talk with Councilmember <br />Callahan. I believe that he would still like to see protection <br />increased, though he is not sure in what area.
