Date: January 27, 2025 Item: 3 <br />Presenter: Adam Edwards, City Administrator / Engineer <br />Section: Work Session Item <br /> <br />Title: Council Code of Conduct <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The purpose of this item is to discuss the development of a code of conduct for the Orono City <br />Council. <br />2.Background: <br />The council has expressed an interest in developing a code of conduct to govern its behavior. The <br />Minnesota Mayors handbook has a sample code of conduct and statement of values (Exhibits A <br />and B). In addition examples from other Minnesota cities are included at Exhibits C and D. <br />3.Staff Recommendation: <br />I recommend Council discuss example codes of conduct and provide guidance on what they would <br />like to see included in one for Orono.
