. - <br /> Clt� o� ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> • NO. ��.5�/ <br /> • � • • <br /> TRANSMITTING THE 1980 CITY OF ORONO COMMUNITY <br /> MANAGEMENT PLAN TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation located <br /> within Hennepin County and within the planning jurisdiction of the <br /> Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities Region; and - <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono is required by Minnesota Statutes <br /> to prepare and adopt a Comprehensive Municipal Plan consistent with <br /> the needs, desires and resources of the community; consistent with the <br /> planning activities of adjacent governmental units; and consistent <br /> with the availability of inetropolitan services and facilities; and <br /> WHEREAS , the City of Orono prepared and adopted such a <br /> Comprehensive Plan in 1974 , which Plan was reviewed and approved by <br /> the Metropolitan Council on November 7 , 1974; and . <br /> WHEREAS , the City of Orono desired to update its 1974 Plan <br /> - to be consistent with current requirements of the Metropolitan Land <br /> Planning Act, and to include more data and detail for increased daily <br /> use by Orono citizens and city officials; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council have now <br /> completed the 1980 City of Orono Community Management Plan, which <br /> Plan has been duly adopted by resolution of the Orono Planning Commission <br /> on May 19, 1980. � _ <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE ,IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of <br /> the City of Orono hereby concurs with the recommendations of the <br /> Orono Planning Commission and hereby transmits the 1980 City of Orono <br /> Community Management Plan to the Metropolitan Council for formal <br /> review and comment according to the provisions of Minnesota Statutes <br /> 473. 175. <br /> 1. This Plan is an expansion and updated version of the <br /> 1974 Orono Village Comprehensive Guide Plan as approved <br /> by the Metropolitan Council on November 7 , 1974 . <br /> 2. This Plan contains the same basic goals, objectives, <br /> policies and concerns as did the 1974 Plan. <br /> 3. This Plan has been developed to be consistent with the <br /> goals, objectives , needs and desires of Orono citizens. <br /> PAGE�OF � � <br />
