_ Clt� of ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> • NO. 1150 <br /> • • • • <br /> A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR PREPARATION OF PLANS FOR <br /> NORTH SHORE DRIVE-SCOTCH PINE LANE SANITARY SEWER PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS , the City of Orono is a municipal corporation organized <br /> and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and <br /> WHEREAS , Resolution No. 1121 of the City Council, adopted the <br /> � 25th day of February, 1980, documented the need for upgrading sewage <br /> treatment and disposal facilities in the North Shore Drive-Scotch Pine <br /> Lane area, and called for a feasibility study for the installation of a <br /> municipal sanitary sewer collection system to serve the area; and - <br /> WHEREAS , this feasibility study was received by the Council on <br /> April 28, 1980, which study indicated that construction of a municipal <br /> sanitary sewer collection system was feasible at an estimated cost of <br /> $153, 800 for a routing requiring easements through the properties, or <br /> $182 ,228 for a routing along city and county rights-of-way. <br /> i- WHEREAS , each property owner in the study area was sent a <br /> questionnaire asking for a response indicating whether or not they favored <br /> the installation of sanitary sewers; and <br /> WHEREAS, two-thirds of the property owners indicated they were <br /> in favor of municipal sanitary sewers, and that of these, all were in <br /> favor of a routing through the properties , which would require easements <br /> to the City; and <br /> WHEREAS , Resolution No. 1142 of the City Council, adopted the <br /> 28th day of April , 1980, fixed a date for a Public Hearing on the proposed <br /> improvement of portions of North Shore Drive and Scotch Pine Lane, by <br /> installing municipal sanitary sewers; and <br /> WHEREAS , ten days published notice of the Hearing through two <br /> weekly publications of the required notice was given and the Hearing was <br /> held thereon on the 21st day of May, 1980, at which time all persons <br /> desiring to be heard were given an opportunity to be heard thereon; and <br /> WHEREAS, a number of the properties whose owners indicated <br /> they favor continuing with on-site systems, have existing systems which <br /> cannot easily be replaced or repaired within the confines of State and <br /> local regulations; and <br /> � � <br /> PAGE 1 OF 2 <br />
