APRIL 24. 1995 <br />ORONO CITY ASSESSOR <br />ORONO LOCAL BOARD OF REVIEW <br />2750 KELLY PARKWAY <br />ORONO, MN 55356 <br />SUBJECT: HENNEPIN COUNTY EVALUATION NOTICE <br />PID: 04-117-23 42 0008 <br />ADDRESS: 2640 Fox Street <br />ATTENTION: LOCAL BOARD OF REVIEW <br />DEAR SIRS/MADAMS: <br />APR 2 6 1995 <br />This letter is to protest and appeal the 1995 evaluation of $164,000 for our <br />property. We do not feel it is accurate or appropriate for our property which has not been <br />improved since our purchase. We paid much less for this property only a few years ago. <br />We do not feel this new valuation resulting in a 10% increase of taxable value is correct <br />for an existing older home, (138,000 to 151,800). <br />When we purchased our property the tax value was much higher than what was <br />actually paid for it. We were successful in receiving a reduction in the tax value at that <br />time; however, we feel this current evaluation is an attempt in the same direction as the <br />previous incorrect tax valuation. It is not appropriate or fair to use the much higher values <br />of the newer much larger homes and much more elaborately built homes that have been <br />constructed during the last few years in Orono to inappropriately increase the valuation of <br />the older smaller basic homes. <br />We have called the assessor for justification of the increased valuation. We have <br />not yet received a reply.
