RESOLUTION# 114� <br /> A RESOLUTION TO CONDUCT INFILTRATION/INFLOW <br /> ' ANALYS IS . <br /> WHEREAS , a preliminary infiltration/inflow (I/I) study <br /> has been completed by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission <br /> (MWCC) of the Orono sanitary sewer system, and <br /> WHEREAS, the MWCC has determined that a reduction in <br /> �/I in the system could possibly extend the life of the MWCC <br /> interceptor system in Orono, and <br /> WHEREAS, a reduction in I/I could positively impact the <br /> economics of operating the sanitary sewer system in the City, and <br /> WHEREAS, the MWCC has indicated that Orono qualifies for <br /> 15% State and 75% Federal funding for a detailed I/I analysis, and <br /> WHEREAS, the I/I study is a necessary step in eventual <br /> funding for rehabilitation of the sewer system to reduce I/I in the <br /> sewer collection system, and <br /> WHEREAS , the MWCC will receive the grant funding for such <br /> an I/I project and will pass through, to the City, the benefits of <br /> the proportionate cost reimbursement from State and Federal grant <br /> participation by means of an agreement between the City and MWCC. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the City retain <br /> Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik, and associates, Inc. , consulting <br /> engineers to conduct an I/I Analysis in accordance with EPA regulat- <br /> ions pursuant to 40 CFR 35.927-1 and as stated in the Owner-Engineer <br /> Agreement Form for Infiltration-Inflow Analysis, and <br /> The City enter into agreement with the MWCC enabling pass-through, <br /> to the City, of grant reimbursement funds, and <br /> The City agree to pay the local share of the project cost which is <br /> ten percent (10%) , and <br /> The City Clerk-Administrator and Mayor are hereby authorized to <br /> execute the necessary agreements to implement the above directives. <br />
