CITY OF ORONO <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 310 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 78-1, 78-823,AND ARTICLE V OF THE <br /> CITY CODE REGARDING GARAGE CONDOS <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO ORDAINS: <br /> SECTION 1. Orono City Code Title VI, Chapter 78, Article I, Section 78-1 is hereby <br /> amended by adding the underlined language as follows: <br /> Farm animals means cattle, horses, mules, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, swine, ponies, <br /> ducks, geese,turkeys, chickens or guinea hens. <br /> Garage condo means a building or part of a building consisting of individual units for <br /> indoor storage of motor vehicles, boats, trailers, or recreational vehicles and such items as are <br /> customarily used for the care or upkeep of such motor vehicles, boats, trailers, or recreational <br /> vehicles. Individual units are owned or leased and may be capable of customization, alteration., <br /> or expansion by the owners or tenants of the units. Garage condos may include common spaces <br /> or office areas. <br /> Garage,private, means a detached accessory building or portion of the principal <br /> building, including a carport, which is used for storing passenger vehicles, and trailers. <br /> SECTION 2. Orono City Code Title VI, Chapter 78, Article IV, Section 78-823 is <br /> hereby amended by adding the underlined language and deleting the str-iletkr-eugli language as <br /> follows: <br /> (a) General provisions. Within the I-Industrial District, no structure or land shall be used <br /> for one or more of the following uses without approval of a conditional use permit. The <br /> following are conditional uses in the I-Industrial District: <br /> [. . .] <br /> (10) Deferment of parking. <br /> (11) Garage condos, provided that: <br /> a. No exterior parking or storage is permitted for a period longer than twenty-four <br /> (24)hours. A parking plan must be provided to demonstrate accessibility to the <br /> site. <br /> b. The premises shall not be used or customized for residential living purposes or <br /> community gatherings or events. <br /> 233350v1 <br />
