Assist administrative staff functions for the Legislative <br />Coordinating Committee (LCC). <br />Coordinate meeting(s) with metropolitan legislators and local <br />officials to discuss AMM priority issues. <br />C. Establish a public relations process including media contacts. <br />Develop/vrite and issue news/press releases on significant AMM <br />events such as membership meetings, outreach breakfasts, legislator <br />meetings, election of officers, key appointments, etc. <br />Develop distribution system for issue oriented news releases and <br />assist preparation/writing releases tailored for specific types <br />of media. <br />D. Assist staffing AMM Committees. <br />E. Monitor Metropolitan Agency activities. <br />Monitor the agendas and attend meetings as directed on a routine <br />basis and report agency activities of interest to other AMM staff. <br />Assist in developing a more proactive stance for setting the <br />Metropolitan agenda. <br />F. Research issues as required. <br />Research specific issues as needed and prepare in depth reports <br />that can be used in lobbying by staff and contact persons. <br />Examples could include comparisons of city expenditures for various <br />services on a per capita basis. <br />DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS <br />Training and Experience <br />A combination substantially equivalent to a BS degree in political <br />science or journalism with accumulated experience in journalism, <br />public relations and government research. <br />-4-
