AMM Memo Dated 6/4/90 <br />ISSUE - Determine whether Council supports or opposes the <br />increase in the positions as outlined in Attachment A. <br />INTRODUCTION - Attachment A was provided as Council informaiton <br />in the June" 26, 1990 packet. No comments were received either <br />way from CounciIraembers. It is presented at this meeting to <br />determine if Council will support this change. <br />DISCUSSION - The change would add another staff person ^to^an <br />overworked staff and will increase the cost to Orono from $1,680 <br />to $1,993 for *91. While a percentage increase of 18% it <br />represents a little over $300 in total. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1. Support. <br />2. Oppose. <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended that the Council support this <br />increase as needed by an organization that^ represents the <br />Metropolitan perspective at the Metro Council, Legislature, <br />together with serving as a forum which municipalities in the <br />metropolitan area, which have different viewpoints, can work to <br />develop common policies instead of fighting those out at the <br />Legislature . <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by , seconded by , Council agrees to <br />support the increase proposed by AMM. Ayes , nays .
