THE, PTL-EINASE <br />OF THE ORONO GOLF COURSE <br />WHEREAS,, the Orono Golf Course has been offered to the Village <br />of Orono for'$150,0'00 plus $5,00.0 for equipment payable over a five-year- <br />peri-od- without intere"5t, and <br />WHEREAS, This 45 -acre, 43 -year old self-supporting recreational <br />facility should-b'e-preserved for the use of Orono citizens, and -- <br />WHEREAS, its purchase may be financed by the issuance of bonds <br />or a levy of approximately 3% mills (amounting to $5.40 per year for an <br />$18,000 home) --over a five-year period in addition to course proceeds. <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council, Village of <br />k. Orono, favors the.purchase of the Orono; Golf Course by the Village for <br />use. as a Public, Golf Course <br />Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Orono at a regular meeting <br />held October 23 1967. <br />H. Thet,the terms of the Draft are in principle acceptable <br />to the Village Council and the appropriate officers of <br />the Village, Council are hereby authorized to execute <br />the agreement contemplated by the Draft upon satisfactory <br />settlement -of certain legal problems and other matters <br />consisting, among other things, of the following: <br />a.. that the agreement be tentatively approved by the <br />attormeys for the prospective underwriters of the <br />
