Review of City policies related to wetlands and floodplains <br />protection. <br />2. Determination as to whether the Council desires: <br />A. To modify protection <br />B. Impose a moratorium <br />INTRODUCTION - At the Council meeting of July 23, 1990 the issue <br />of wetlands protection particularly as it related to the pending <br />Blanch application on Old Beach Road was raised. Included in the <br />application are questions regarding setback from wetlands <br />together the proposal to fill in wetlands within the City of <br />Minnetonka Beach and dredge out a compensating amount within the <br />City of Orono. In addition, was the question of fill already <br />deposited upon the property and also the developability related <br />to the property. <br />DISCUSSION - <br />The City's Comprehensi ve Plan Objective - The primary thrust of <br />the City's Comprehensive Plan related to improving the quality of <br />Lake Minnetonka through the removal of sewage going into the lake <br />together with not creating greater non-point pollution in the <br />process. This non-point pollution particularily came about from <br />storm water run off. The Comprehensive Plan addresses it through <br />the large lot zoning in the rural area of the community together
