Draft Ordinance Amendment <br />ISSUE - Determine whether the Council in advance of the election <br />a’^iTfes to adjust the Council salary's that would be effective <br />for the next two years. Attachment B represents a draft <br />ordinance should Council care to consider such an adoption. <br />INTRODUCTION - In 1986 in advance of the election the Council did <br />raise Council salary's from $2,640 to $2,900 and the Mayor's <br />salary from $3,300 to ■ ^,600. <br />DISCUSSION - As you may recall State law requires that any <br />increase in the salary be done in advance of an election. The <br />Council has until October 22, 1990 to adopt an increase. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1. Adopt. <br />2. Not adopt. <br />3. Table for further discussion. <br />RECOMMENDATION - Council has until October 22, 1990 to determine <br />whether they desire to adopt any increase in their salary. A <br />salary increase that would be in line with the general inflation <br />would place them at the following; Council salaries would go from <br />$2,900 to about $3,125 and the Mayor's salary would go from <br />$3,600 to about $3,900. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by seconded by that the Council <br />having considered an increase in their salaries adopts Ordinance <br /># , Second Series indicating salary amounts for 1991 and 1992. <br />Ayis , Nays _. <br />cc: Tom Kuehn, Finance Director
