ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD JULY 16, 1990 <br />ZONING FILES #1559 & 11560-HENRICH CONTINUED <br />There were no comments from the public regarding application <br />#1559 and Kelley closed the Public Hearing. <br />It wcs moved by Johnson, seconded by Kelley, to recommend <br />approval of the hardcover variance to construct a detached garage <br />no larger than 750 s.f., as well as additions to the existing <br />residence, provided that hardcover in the 75-250' zone remain at <br />43.6%. It is further recommended that the lakeshore setback <br />variance be approved. Kelley advised the Henrichs that should <br />they intend to put landscaping plastic and rock anywhere on the <br />property, it will be necessary to remove hardcover from elsewhere <br />on the property. Motion, Ayes-5, Nays-0. Motion passed. <br />Kelley opened the Public Hearing for application #1560. <br />Gaffron noted that the issue of whether one or two retaining <br />walls is necessary has yet to be determined by the City Engineer. <br />Kelley stated that he is indifferent as to whether or not <br />hardcover should be reduced as long as the retaining walls are <br />constructed to provide maximum safety and erosion control. <br />There were no public comments and the Public Hearing was <br />continued. <br />It was moved by Kelley, seconded by Rowlette, to table <br />application #1560. Motion, Ayes-5, Nays-0. Motion carried. <br />#1561 CHRISTINE BECK <br />3820 CHERRY AVENUE <br />VARIANCE <br />PUBLIC HEARING 10:38 P.M. TO 10:39 P.M. <br />It was moved by Kelley, seconded by Cohen, to table this <br />item until the applicant and/or a representative are present. <br />Motion, Ayes-5, Nays-0. Motion carried. <br />#1563 MAURENE & JERRY DENZEL <br />1295 ELMWOOD AVENUE <br />VARIANCES <br />PUBLIC HEARING 9:07 P.M. TO 9:20 P.M. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Denzel were present. <br />The Affidavit of Publication and Certificate of Hailing were <br />duly noted. <br />Mabusth summarized the information in her memo dated July <br />13, 1990 pertaining to this application. <br />Kelley noted that the 1.49% increase in hardcover is mainly <br />due to the relocation of the garage for safety purposes. Kelley <br />asked whether the hardcover calculations include landscaping. <br />- 13 -
