Notice of Termination Dated 7/31/90 <br />ISSUE - <br />1. Presentation to Council regarding notice of termination for <br />their acceptance. <br />2. Presentation to Council of direction for assessing services. <br />INTRODUCTION - The City's Assessor as outlined in Attachment A <br />has exercised his option of termination effective October 31, <br />1990. <br />DISCUSSION - The City's options for new service would be: <br />A. ) In-house Assessor <br />B. ) Contract independent Assessor <br />C. ) Contract with Hennepin County <br />Following the receipt of termination from the current Assessor, <br />the City Assessor for 6 years prior expressed interest in again <br />contracting with the City under the same contract as in the past. <br />The cost of this would be about 10% above that for the 2nd lowest <br />proposal from lact time. This is estimated to be about 15-70% <br />below an in-house assessor. Given the persons's experience in <br />the City it may well be beneficial for the City pursue this <br />avenue for a contractor replacement. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1. Concur with the termination. <br />2. Accept the information as to future assessor. <br />3. Table for further discussion. <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended that Council accept the the <br />termination. It is additionally recommended to table this until <br />the August 27, 1990 meeting. If anyone has objections to <br />pursuing an arrangement with the former assessor, please contact <br />me prior to Thursday, August 23, 1990. <br />seconded by __, that Council <br />the termination and that they table for further <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by <br />concur in <br />consideration to the August 27, 1990 Council meeting.
