LA24-000055, Cannabis Setback Text Amendment—Ordinance 306 <br /> The City Council is requested to review the Staff report,receive a presentation, and discuss and adopt the <br /> resolution amending the city code as presented to cover cannabis businesses. The changes would allow <br /> cannabis businesses within the business and industrial districts with all setback requirements allowed by <br /> State law. <br /> The Council discussed the item and asked questions of staff. <br /> Veach moved,Crosby seconded,to adopt Ordinance 306 as presented to allow cannabis businesses. <br /> VOTE: Ayes 4,Nays 0. <br /> Oakden also reported on activities in the department and current permit revenue. <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT <br /> 18. Long Lake Fire Department Fire Truck Purchase/2025 CIP Approval <br /> The City Council is requested to review the Staff report, receive a presentation, and discuss and approve <br /> the 2025 Long Lake Fire Department Capital Improvement Plan and the purchase of a brush utility <br /> vehicle. <br /> The Council discussed the item and asked questions of staff. <br /> Walsh moved,Crosby seconded,to deny items 1,2 and 3 (all items)in the Council requested action. <br /> VOTE: Ayes 2,Nays 2 (Benson and Veach).Walsh announced the motion failed on a 2-2 vote. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY REPORT <br /> None. <br /> CITY ADMINISTRATOR/ENGINEER REPORT <br /> 19. Accept Resignation of Councilmember Matt Johnson and declare a vacancy--Resolution 7530 <br /> The City Council is requested to review the Staff report, receive a presentation,and discuss and adopt the <br /> resolution accepting the resignation of Councilmember Matt Johnson and declaring a vacancy. City <br /> Administrator Edwards explained Johnson's resignation had been received that day and because there are <br /> more than two years left in Johnson's term,there would need to be a special election in 2025 and an <br /> interim appointment in the meantime. <br /> The Council discussed the item and asked questions of staff. <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br />
