LMCD Board of Directors June 27, 1990 <br />Cochran clarified the motion as being a motion to <br />staff to prepare an amendment. <br />direct <br />AMENDMENT TO MOTION; Rascop moved, Bjorlin seconded, to <br />amend the motion to have the code amendment sunset at the end of <br />the 1991 boating season. The Chair declared the motion carried <br />on a hand vote. . , <br />MOTION AS AMENDED; Motion carried, Hurr, Rascop, Boswinkel, <br />Bjorlin and Babcock voting nay. <br />f) Personal Watercraft Information and Education <br />Program Request <br />Pillsbury moved, Rascop seconded, to approve the Committee <br />denial of a request by Kawasaki jet ski dealers for a personal <br />watercraft information and education program. It could be a <br />violation of the Prolonged Operation section of the Personal <br />Watercraft Ordinance. A Special Event permit application was not <br />submitted by the applicant. Motion carried unanimously. <br />the <br />for <br />g. Charter Boat Liquor License Requirements <br />The Executive Director furnished members with a copy of <br />notice sent to Charter Boat operators regarding requirements <br />serving intoxicating liquor and non-intoxicating malt liquor. <br />h. Water Patrol Report <br />Sgt. Chandler, Sheriff’s Water Patrol reported as follows: <br />* Twenty-five of the twenty-si> Boating While <br />Intoxicated citations issued by the Water Patrol this year were <br />on Lake Minnetonka. <br />* It takes about three months to receive the reports <br />from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension but indications are that <br />activity is up. <br />* There have been no serious accidents on Lake <br />Minnetonka. , , , i <br />* A detective has been assigned to the Lake to work on <br />thefts. The detective is coordinating activities with the <br />cities. . r jIt There are problems with the Sun-Kat rentals at Lora <br />Fletcher’s. There have been incidents of equipment malfunction, <br />inebriated operators and inexperienced operators. <br />Pillsbury moved, Babcock seconded, to authorize a letter to <br />the fee owner of the rental operation advising him that there is <br />a sunset on his operation and there is a possibility his permit <br />could be rescinded. Motion carried unanimously. <br />^ The safety broadcasts have been well received. The <br />Water Patrol will respect LMCD directions and use 928.6’ Normal <br />Outlet Elevation when indicating the how far down the water level <br />is at a given date.
