MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SCHOOL BOARD <br />OF ORONO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 278 <br />HELD ON JUNE 11. 1990 <br />JUL 11 1990 <br />The regular meeting of the School Board of Orono Independent School District No. <br />278 was held on Monday, June 11, 1990. <br />Present:Dave McKown <br />Don Anderson <br />Kitty Crosby <br />James Franklin <br />John Maresh <br />Lucie Taylor <br />Thomas Mich <br />William Fenholt <br />UPON MOTION by Kitty Crosby, seconded by Lucie Taylor, the consent agenda was <br />approved as follows: <br />1990 special meeting; <br />1990 regular meeting; <br />social studies teacher at <br />- approved the minutes of the May 23, <br />- approved the minutes of the May 29, <br />- approved the appointment of Sarah Dv’hlgren as <br />the high school for the 1990-91 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Maureen Gibbon as English teacher at the high <br />school for the 1990-91 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of J. Darren Wolf as mathematics teacher at the <br />middle school for the 1990-91 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Pamela Brinkhaus as science teacher at the <br />middle school for the 1990-91 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Ruth Larson as mathematics teacher at the <br />middle school for the 1990-91 school year; <br />- agreed to participate in Chapter I and authorize an LEA representative in <br />conjunction with the District Advisory Committee and School Advisory com­ <br />mittees of the District to execute and file application for the school <br />district and to otherwise act as authorized representative in all Chapter <br />I related activities; <br />- approved the listing of seniors, as presented by Orono High School admi­ <br />nistration, for graduation; <br />- approved the bills as covered by vouchers 066421 through 066398 and <br />building construction bills as covered by vouchers 1022 through 1036. <br />Dr. Mich reported that graduation ceremonies were successful and he expressed <br />appreciation to everyor. who worked on the reception as well as the senior party <br />and that he wanted to express congratulations to the seniors; that he wanted to <br />express appreciation to the OEA for the retirement breakfast held on June 8 and <br />especially to Marlys Burr and her committee and to Evy Zacher for their <br />work/efforts in organizing this event; that the committee to review the <br />scholarship committee has not met but will report to the Board at a later date; <br />that summer school is in process at the high school with 420 plus students in <br />attendance; that construction on the new building is approximately three weeks <br />behind schedule due to the inclement weather; that congratulations are in order <br />to the tennis team and Coach Moynihan for their success in the state tournament <br />and special congratulations to Tim George as the top Class A Individual tennis <br />player in the state; that breakfast will be held on June 20 with Kitty Crosby; <br />that breakfast will be held on June 21 with Marvel Bongart; that the reorganiza­ <br />tion meeting is set for July 9.
