Consultant Response to Orono Comments (Undated) <br />ISSUE <br />1. Present to Council preliminary comments of the consultant <br />relative to Orono's comments on the Plan. <br />2. Update Council as to the results of the July 11th plan review <br />meeting of Orono's comments. <br />INTRODUCTION - Attachment A represents the comments of the <br />consultant in response to Orono's submittals on the final draft <br />plar . <br />DISCUSSION - While the tenor of the consultant's remarks were not <br />necessarily helpful in enlightening the discussion, Councilmember <br />Callahan and myself spent approximately 2 1/2 hours reviewing the <br />intent of Orono's comments and the specific issues outlined in <br />Attachment C. Despite Attachment A the LMCD Review Board for the <br />most part seemed receptive to several of the suggestions as they <br />relate to: <br />Metro Council - Scopte of review <br />Clarity of plan <br />Regulation by type of boat <br />Funding <br />Proposed governmental structure <br />Plan focus - Encourage vs control <br />Specifying methodology for determining density being <br />included in the document <br />In addition the discussion was instructive as to what the plan <br />really meant versus what an initial review would lead one to <br />believe. <br />The true test of the work however, will be the next draft and <br />what changes will be made to clarify or change the issues of <br />concern. <br />It is my present understanding that they are working to have a
