A RESOLDTION GRANTING <br />AN APTER-THB-PACT VARIANCE TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.03r SUBDIVISION 15 (C), <br />PILE #1543 <br />WHEREAS, Richard C. Reed (hereinafter "the applicant") is <br />the owner of property located at 1000 Old Long Lake Road within the <br />City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />Exhibit A, attached, (hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for an after- <br />the-fact variance to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.03 Subdivision <br />15 (C) to permit the installation of 4 entrance monuments at a height <br />of 5* instead of the allowed 3 1/2' to be installed 10' from the <br />travelled right-of-way of Old Long Lake Road. <br />Minnesota: <br />NOW, THEREPORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1543. <br />2. The property is located in the RR-IB Rural Residential Zoning <br />District requiring 2 acres in area. The subject property <br />consists of 2+ acres. <br />3. The Orono Council reviewed this application on July 9, 1990 <br />and recommended conceptual approval of the proposed after-the- <br />fact variance based upon the following findings: <br />A) The proposed location of the entrance monuments will <br />provide no hazard to the users of the adjacent publ c <br />roadway. Old Long Lake Road. <br />B) The monuments placed 10’ off the traveled road will <br />provide adequate area for snow maintenance purposes. <br />C) The entrance monuments with lighting will provide no <br />visual impact for the adjacent residential properties. <br />4. The City Council has considered this application including <br />the findings and recommendations of the Planning Commission, <br />Page 1 of 4
