CITY <br />ORONO <br />City of 0R0I\0 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 2577_________ <br />.% KBSULUxiuii OR^TxiiG <br />A VAMJAMCm TO <br />MDMICIPAL Z0HZII6 CODE <br />8BCTIOH 10.22r SUBDIVISIOH 1 <br />PILE TO. 1362 <br />WHEREAS* Paul Hauser (hereinafter "the applicant ”) is owner of <br />the property located at 2801 Casco Point Road within the City of Orono <br />(hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />Exhibit A, attached (hereinafter "the property")? and <br />WHEREAS* the applicant has applied to the City for a variance to <br />Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.22, Subdivision 1 ft 2 to permit the <br />construction of additions to the existing residence which encroach past the <br />average la)ceahore setbaclc line where no encroachment is normally allowed, <br />and which result in a hardcover square footage on the property in excess of <br />the square footage normally allowed. <br />Minnesota t <br />MOW* THEREFORE* BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />PIMDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1362. <br />2. The property is located in the LR-IC Single Family La)ceshore <br />Residential Zoning District. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on January <br />17, 1989 and recommended approval of the average lalceshore setbac)c <br />variance and denial of the hardcover variance based upon the following <br />findings: <br />A) No significant laJce views enjoyed by neighboring properties <br />will be reduced or encroached upon by the proposed additions. <br />B) The hardcover excess on the property due to the proposed <br />construction is 417 s.f. The property owner can remove 417 s.f. <br />of existing hardcover in the driveway area without causing <br />traffic safety or vehicle storage problems, so that no hardcover <br />variance will be necessary. <br />Page 1 of 4
