Date: November 12, 2024 Item: 8 <br />Presenter: Maggie Jin, Finance Director <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Title: Agreement - Gillespie Center Services <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The purpose of this council item is to update the agreement with the Gillespie Center and to amend <br />the support amount. <br />2.Background: <br />The Gillespie Center, a community center/senior center, is located in Mound and serves residents <br />from the many surrounding cities. At the September 9, 2024 Council Meeting, Director Rhonda <br />Nelson provided an update on the Gillespie Center, including programs, services, fundraising and <br />the upcoming 25th anniversary for the center. The last agreement made between the City of Orono <br />and the Gillespie Center was made on May 21, 2009. Orono currently pays $9,500 per year to the <br />Gillespie Center to help fund programs that are provided to Orono residents. Attached is an <br />updated agreement, with the contribution amount amended to be $12,000 per year. <br />3.Cost: <br />$12,000 per year.
