ORONO REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING HELD JUNE 11, 1990 <br />WRIGHT/HENNEPIN FRANCHISE AGREEMENT CONTINUED <br />passed. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Callahan, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to accept the information regarding the <br />Council Minutes of the May 29, 1990 Meeting. Motion, Ayes-5, <br />Nays-0, Motion passed. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS: <br />Planning Commission Representative, Charlie Kelley, <br />present and indicated that he had no comments at this time. <br />was <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS: <br />Rosemary Scheuer referred to the Shoreline Beautification <br />Plan that was approved last year and asked whether Orono had <br />plans to install a "Welcome to Orono" sign. She noted that both <br />Mound and Spring Park had designed welcome signs. <br />Mayor Grabek informed Ms. Scheuer that staff would provide <br />her with information at the June 25, 1990 Council meeting. <br />************************* <br />Mayor Grabek informed staff that he had spoken with Mr. Bill <br />V?ear regarding the status of the clean up process along Highway <br />12. He said that Mr. Wear had stated that the condition of the <br />access area for his property was such that it is having a <br />negative impact on his business. <br />City Engineer Cook stated that he has asked for information <br />from three landscape companies in relation to the clean up work. <br />He said he has received information from only one of the <br />companies. <br />Mayor Grabek asked Cook if he would expedite the clean up <br />process and send Mr. Wear a letter informing him of a completion <br />date. <br />ZONING ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />#1502 MICHAEL HILBELINK <br />2180 PROSPECT AVENUE <br />VARIANCE <br />Mr. Hilbelink, Mr. and Mrs. Jentilucci <br />Heikkila, Attorney for Jentilucci's. were present <br />and <br />Bernhardson reviewed the information regarding <br />application (see Jeanne Mabusth's memo dated May 2, 1990). <br />Neil <br />this <br />Mr. Heikkila stated that his clients do not feel that it is <br />necessary to grant a variance for this particular house design. <br />- 5 -
