LAKE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />unless the PWC is being driven perpendicular to the shoreline, and to or <br />from the nearest point of water 300 feet from the shoreline or parallel to <br />the shoreline from one location to another in a manner which is not repetitive. <br />AUTOMATIC CUT-OFF DEVICE. Automatic cut off device provided by the <br />manufacturer must be used. The device must not be altered, disabled or <br />removed. <br />WAKE JUMPING. Jumping wakes of another watercraft is not allowed within <br />150 feet of that watercraft. <br />CARELESS OPERATION. A PWC must at all times be operated in a <br />reasonable and prudent manner. Maneuvers which unreasonably or <br />unnecessarily endanger life, limb or property, including, but not limited <br />to weaving through congested boat trafficor swerving at the last possible <br />moment to avoid collision shall constitute careless, reckless or grossly <br />negligent operation. <br />RENTAL. Persons renting a PWC are subject to age and operator <br />permit requirements. Minimum age for rental is 16 years. Rental agencies <br />must provide summary of the laws governing the safe operation of PWC on <br />Lake Minnetonka. <br />PROLONGED OPERATION. No personal watercraft shall be operated in a <br />single area for more than thirty consecutive minutes. A person in control <br />of such watercraft shall be subject to citation. A single area is defined <br />as an area of the lake which is so small that the noise emanating from <br />personal watercraft operated continuously within it is liable to be a <br />nuisance or cause substantial annoyance to residents of one or more shoreline <br />properties during all of the time of such continuous operation. <br />(continued)
