minutes of orono council meeting held march 12, lj90 <br />70NING FILE #1468-PILLSBURY CONTINUED . ^ uto the Pillsbury proposal since it was last reviewed by <br />council? Callahan replied that he is not aware of any changes. <br />He said that the only reason he had denied this application was <br />because he had denied Mr. Pemberton’s application. Councilmember <br />Goetten indicated that this project is placing new construction <br />within the 0-75' setback zone. Goetten felt that the Pillsburys <br />could have placed the greenhouse addition elsewhere as part of <br />the recent remodeling project that was done to che house. <br />Goetten indicated that she did not see a hardship ^ <br />greenhouse to be located in the 0-75' zone. Goetten said that <br />Council should be concerned about voting for this because of the <br />precedent that will be set. Councilmember Peterson concurred <br />Sith Goetten and added that she disagreed with the process of <br />Council review that this application has undergone. <br />Councilmember Nettles stated that Bracketts Point is <br />oart of Orono, especially when viewed from Lake Minnetonka. <br />Lttles did not feel that the Pillsburys' proposal would have any <br />detrimental impact on the City, or the Lake Is <br />his belief that reducing hardcover wherever <br />important. Councilmember Goetten ^ <br />Bracketts Point is a beautiful area. She said there are <br />Ordinances in place, however, which must be upheld. Motion, <br />Ayes-3, Peterson, Goetten, Nay. Motion passed. <br />#1483 HAROLD VOGT <br />1342 REST POINT CIRCLE <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMITMr. Vogt was present for the review of this application. <br />Citv Administrator Bernhardson reviewed this application and <br />informed'the cSiLil that an accurate -rvey of this P-p-ty has <br />not been received. Bernhardson suggested that should this <br />application be approved, it be done conceptually and that a new <br />Purvey be submitted before final approval is given. Bernhardson <br />noted that the Planning Commission had recommended ®P^^^ <br />this application subject to the submittal of a structural <br />engineer's report regarding the stability of this structure. <br />Mr. Vogt stated that he had bought the property l^ft June. <br />He said that this boat house structure a key reason they <br />chose this particular piece of property. Mr. Vogt indicated that <br />he had done^ an extensive title search of this property and found <br />nothing pertaining to the boat house. Mr. Vogt informed the <br />Counc2l thlre are eight similar "\„Ss2 <br />neighborhood on Fagerness Point. One of ^ <br />structures is being used as a rental unit. Mr. Vogt said that <br />tearing down the swucture would create quite ®. *'«dship because <br />it would devaluate his property.
