TRDNK HIGHWAY 12 <br />PROJECT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS <br />1. INVENTORY <br />- Assemble all relevant maps, data, plans, policies, <br />etc. from all affected cities, counties, and <br />agencies. <br />- Prepare a base map to be used in evaluating <br />corridor alternatives. <br />2. TRAFFIC FORECASTING <br />- Forecast traffic volumes such that the impacts of <br />potential corridor locations can be determined. <br />3. SCOPING <br />- Identify all potential corridor locations. <br />- Identify and describe potential impacts of aach <br />alternative. <br />- Prepare Scoping Document for publication. <br />- Conduct public Scoping Meeting. <br />- Prepare Scoping Decision Document (SDD) based upon <br />agency and public comments. The SDD will recommend <br />a limited number of alternatives to be advanced for <br />further study in the Draft Environmental Impact <br />Statement. <br />4. TIER 1 DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT <br />- Evaluate all potential impacts ‘of corridor <br />alternatives to a level of detail sufficient to make <br />a location decision. <br />- Prepare Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) <br />for publication. <br />- Conduct public hearing. <br />5. TIER 1 FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT <br />- Revise DEIS to incorporate public and agency <br />comments. <br />- The FEIS will select an alternative as the preferred <br />alignment.
