MINUTES OF 7WE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SCHOOL BOARD <br />OF ORONO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 278 <br />HELD ON MARCH 1. 1990 <br />A special meeting of the School Board of Orono Independent School District No, <br />278 was held on Thursday, March 1, 1990. <br />Present: Dave McKown <br />Don Andersen <br />Kitty Crosby <br />John Maresh <br />Lucie Taylor <br />Thomas Mich <br />William Fenholt <br />Absent: James Franklin <br />Dr. Mich stated that the purpose for calling this meeting was that Ron <br />Christenson, construction manager for the building project, has advised admi­ <br />nistration that some of the bids received on February 15 for the construction <br />project are not satisfactory and therefore he is recommending that certain bids <br />be rejected and that the Board call for new bids in these areas. <br />UPON MOTION by Don Anderson, seconded by Kitty Crosby, each Board member concurs <br />in and the Board of Education approves the convening of a special school <br />district meeting under special circumstances for the purposes of rejecting <br />bids/calling for bids, and further, that each Board member waives statutory <br />notice for such meeting. <br />UPON MOTION BY Kitty Crosby, seconded by John Maresh, the Board of Education <br />rejected bids received for labor and/or materials set forth in the following <br />specifications: <br />Specifications Descriptions <br />0220 <br />0224 <br />0550 <br />0716 <br />0811 <br />0870 <br />1550 <br />1580 <br />1595 <br />Earthwork <br />Subdrainage <br />Miscellaneous metals <br />Bituminious dampproofing <br />Hoi low metal <br />Finish hardware <br />Fire protection <br />Ventilation <br />Temperature controls <br />UPON MOTION by Lucie Taylor, seconded Don Anderson, the Board of Education <br />directed the business manager to reajvertize for bids for labor and/or material <br />set forth in the specific areas covered by the rejected bids. <br />UPON MOTION by John Maresh, seconded by Don Anderson, the meeting was adjourned. <br />Approved: <br />Don A.
