Ku€»hn, Finance Director <br />DATS: March 21, 1990 <br />32190.3 / (^ <br />COUNai MEETING <br />MAR 2 <1990 <br />CITYOFORONO <br />SOBJBCT: Final Performance Review of Assistant Finance Director <br />for Probationary Period <br />Attachment: Compensation Plan Step Eligibility 1990 <br />ISSUE - Determination of status after completion of probationary <br />period; compensation step increase; and position review. <br />DISCUSSION - Assistant Finance Director Linda Walters will have <br />completed her probation period on April 3, 1990. In accordance <br />with Section 203 of the Administrative and Personnel Policy I <br />hereby recommend that she be retained as she has successfully <br />completed the probationary period. Actually this past year with <br />Linda has been a very rewarding experience. She has brought her <br />incredible attitude and personality to her job, taking on tasks <br />with enthusiasm and pride. She is positive, cheerful, friendly <br />and open with me, her co-workers, and the public. She has asked <br />for additional work and is performing several new or different <br />tasks and has developed new work sheets and journal entries using <br />the LOTUS spread sheet software. In fact, I feel it is time to <br />review the position to determine if the current compensation <br />Level 5 accurately reflects the responsibilities of the position <br />or if this compensation plan level should be adjusted upwards. <br />At this time Linda is eligible for an annual step increase from <br />$11,073 per hour (Level 5, Step II) to $11,688 per hour (Level 5, <br />Step III) as noted in the attachment. <br />RECOMMENDATION - Assistant Finance Director Linda Walters has <br />successfully completed the probation period and should have her <br />salary adjusted from Level 5, Step II to Level 5, Step III, <br />effective April 2, 1990. I also recommend that her position be <br />reviewed and that any adjustment as a result of that review be <br />effective April 2, 1990. <br />TO; Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Mark E.
