HV)lO
AuGust 20, 1982
Doug ojootrg
Pane 2
Critical sizes of the various elements of the system are indicated below.
MINIMUM SEPTIC TA' K CAPACITY
DRAIN FIELD PIPE DIAMETER
SOIL TREATMENT AREA:
6“ of rock under drain pipe
12" of rock under drain pipe
18" of rock under drain pipe
DEPTH OF TRENCH BELOIV EXISTING GP-\DE:
6" of rock under drain pipe
12" of rock under drain pipe
of rock under drain pipe
1000 Gallons
1; inches
750 SF
6(.<0 SF
h95 S?
22 inches
28 inches
32 inches
The above date Is based on minimum cover over the drain field. It is
recommended that the minimum cover be used in order to allow for maximum
benefit through evapo*transplratlon.
Given the nature and dimensions of the site, we recommend the drain field
be constructed with four each 50 foot drain lines, connected by drop
boxes arranged down the slope where the tests were run. The trench width
should be 3o Inches and there shoi>ld be 12 Inches of rock under the drain
field. Other arrangements meeting the above design criteria of critical
sizes can be used.
REMARKS
The tests and recommendations presented herein were in accordance with
proceedures outlined in the Onsite Sewage Treatment Manual, published
by the University of Minnesoia Agricultural Extension Service and the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, 1982 edition. Construction of tlie
system should be in accordance with this manual.
Veiy Truly Yours
TOM SMITH ASSOCIATES INC
I hereby cen«ty ihot f!iis plun« speciHcacion, or
report was prepared by me or under my direct
supervision and Ihof I am o duly ReQllIorod
Prolessionol Engineer under the Laws of fte
Slate of Minnesota
TiiCKiAS K 5^aTH, PE
TKS/oas
incl
THOmVAS Ki SMITH
Datt Raq- ^ 9044
/ i
TOM SMITH ASSOCIATES Ir /
/ 1:
