Minutes <br />Planning Commission Regular Meeting <br />Monday, August 19, 2024, 6:00 PM <br />City Council Chambers 2780 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356 <br />The Planning Commission is requested to review the Staff report, receive a presentation, and discuss and <br />approve the preliminary plat and vacation request to re -arrange boundary lines between three existing <br />properties that include two outlots. No new lots are proposed. A portion of one outlot would be combined <br />with the buildable area of the existing house and an unused tennis court removed. The new boundary will <br />correctly align with the road and the easements. <br />The Planning Commission discussed the item and asked questions of staff and the applicants, George <br />Stickney, 540 Indian Mound Street, and Mark Gronberg, engineer. <br />Chair Bollis opened the public hearing at 6:10 p.m. <br />There were no public comments. <br />Chair Bollis closed the public hearing at 6:10 p.m. <br />Planning Commissioners noted the vacation did not affect needed drainage or utility easements and there <br />would be no increased risk of erosion. They characterized it as cleaning up boundaries and said the <br />neighbors were supportive. <br />Libby moved, Kirchner seconded, to approve LA24-000039, 1480 Bracketts Point Road, Variances, <br />as applied. VOTE: Ayes: 7, Nays 0. <br />6. OTHER ITEMS <br />Community Development Director Oakden updated the Planning Commissioners on actions taken in <br />accordance with their recommendations by the City Council at the last meeting. She said the Council is <br />looking at a Cannabis ordinance and continues to review possible changes to Average Lakeshore Setback. <br />She reported that City Planner Nye has resigned and this would be her last Planning Commission meeting <br />and the department would need to fill that position. <br />7. ADJOURNMENT <br />Libby moved, McCutcheon seconded, to adjourn the Planning Commission Meeting at 6:22 p.m. to <br />September 16, 2024.
