WMinutes <br /> City Council Regular Meeting <br /> Monday,August 26, 2024, 6:00 PM <br /> City Council Chambers 2780 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356 <br /> kESMO <br /> Eric Evanson of the Lake Minnetonka Association, a non-profit citizen group,explained Lake <br /> Improvement Districts and said that Forest Lake and Crystal Bay homeowners are each interested in <br /> forming one for the sole purpose of dealing with invasive weeds such as Eurasian Milfoil and Curlyleaf <br /> Pondweed. LIDs are initiated by majority citizen petition and governed by statute.Cities typically serve <br /> as fiscal agents for LIDs. He said the next steps would be for the City to receive the petition and hold a <br /> public hearing. <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT <br /> Fire Chief Van Eyll reported on incidents from July 20 to Aug 23, on the City's Auto Aid and Mutal Aid <br /> partners, and the stand-up status of the department. The department will receive a$5,000 DNR grant. The <br /> tanker is still expected to be delivered in September. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY REPORT <br /> City Attorney Mattick said his comments would be saved for the Closed Session later in the evening. <br /> CITY ADMINISTRATOR/ENGINEER REPORT <br /> 14.
