4 4 <br />-i <br />J <br />i <br />i- <br />■f^’s <br />SECTION 15350 <br />GAS PIPING SYSTEM <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE <br />A. Provide a complete gas piping system. <br />B. The worK of this section includes, but is not limited to: <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />Installation of firm natural gas service from gas meter <br />to in‘4*..^ual gas furances and equipment. <br />This Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining the <br />gas services from the utility company and shall pay all <br />fscr, connection charges and/or deposits as required. <br />Furnish and install steel sleeves for installation of <br />gas service line wherever necessary. <br />PART 2 - PR^ nUCTS AND EX: -UTION <br />2.01 GENERAL <br />A. Gas Piping <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br />Refer to Section 15060 and 15100 for material. <br />Furnish ana install lever handles brass gas service cocks, <br />appliance and lubricated plug valves on the mains and <br />wherever else indicated. <br />Test: Refer to Section 15020. <br />Gas service by the gas company to inlet side of gas meter <br />including primary regulator and meter will be installed <br />by the Gas Utility Company as a part of the work of this <br />section. <br />Gas meters including primary regulating valves will be <br />furnished and installed by the Utility Company. This <br />Contractor shall pay for all costs not borne by the <br />Utility Company as part of the work of this installation. <br />This Contractor shall make all necessary arrangements <br />with the Gas Utility Company for the completion of this <br />service. <br />This Contractor shall extend gas piping from leaving <br />side of meters at 2 lb. w.c. pressure to all gas equip­ <br />ment in the building. The gas service from meter into <br />bhilding shall be extended above the ground with dielectric <br />union before entering the building and shall be provided <br />with a shut-off valve outside of the building. Provide <br />2# - 7" Maxitrol regulators on all equipment. <br />Gas piping shall be installed with plugged drip pockets <br />at low points. Valves or cocks and unions shall be <br />installed on inlet piping to all equipment. This Con­ <br />tractor at all gas appliances shall provide an approved <br />regulator to reduce the presure from nominal 6" w.c. <br />to that required by the appliance. <br />15350-1
