Motors shall be TEFC. <br />Single phase motors shall be capacitor start, drip-proof. <br />Three phase motors general purpose, squirrel cage induc­ <br />tion type unless specified otherwise. Minimum service <br />factors shall be 1.15. All motors single speed, 1750 <br />rpm, unless specified otherwise for specific equipment. <br />Electric motors less than 1/2 HP single phase, designed <br />for 120 volt, 60 cycle alternating current. <br />Electric motors 1/2 HP and greater shall be as required <br />by electrical drawings. <br />7. <br />8. <br />Verify voltage and phase ratings with Electrical Drawings, <br />Motor Starter Schedule for proper characteristics and <br />exception to the above. <br />All three-phase motors for mechanical equipment 3 HP <br />and larger shall be high-efficiency type, and shall operate <br />at a minimum power factor of 0.85 under rated load. <br />THERMOMETERS <br />Thermometers with 9" scales, vertical or angle pattern, red <br />reading, mercury filled with separable wells where indicated <br />on drawings and as further specified. Thermometers shall <br />have ranges of 30*^ to 240^ F for all water piping and equipment. <br />Thermometer shall be by Trerice. Taylor Instrument Company, <br />Weiss, U. S. Gauge, Weksler, marshalltown, Moeller and March <br />are approved. <br />PRESSURE GAUGES <br />Provide pressure gauges where indicated on drawings or as <br />specified. The pressure range of the gauge shall be 1-1/2 <br />times the highest operating pressure. Provide gauges as fol­ <br />lows : <br />Water Lines: 4-1/2" dial, gauge, cock and pulsation dampener <br />when located within thirty feet of a pump. <br />Gauges as manufactured by U.S. Gauge, Weksler or Marshalltown <br />are approved. <br />PRESSURE-TEMPERATURE TAPS (PTT) <br />Pressure-temperature taps suitable for temperatures to 275°F <br />and a pressure of 300 psi shall be provided where indicated. <br />Taps shall consist of 1/4" NPT fitting to receive a pressure <br />or temperature probe 1/8" O.D.
