They outlined sponsorship and donation levels with <br />the recognition available for each level. They will have a booth and court at James J Hill Days and an <br />open house at the Wayzata County Club in early September. <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT REPORT <br />15.LA24-000038, 3245 Wayzata Blvd, Interim Use Permit, Grading, Resolution 7501 <br />The City Council is requested to review the Staff report, receive a presentation,and discuss and adopt the <br />resolution approving an interim use permit for grading this property to remedy contaminated soil on a <br />former dump site.Staff recommends approval conditioned on compliance with the permitting <br />requirements set by the MPCA (Minnesota Pollution Control Agency)and Minnehaha Creek Watershed <br />District. <br />The Council discussed the item and asked questions of staff and the applicant, Kelsey Thompson, Lake <br />West Development, Minnetonka. <br />Crosby moved, Johnson seconded, to adopt the resolution of approval with the specified conditions. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />Community Development Director Oakden reported on May and June building permits and permit <br />revenue.They are working on ordinance amendments in work sessions and are processing a few more <br />applications. They accepted the resignation of the City Planner Natalie Nye and will be working to fill <br />that position. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT <br />Chief Van Eyll reported on the stand-up status of the Orono Fire Department. The rental tanker is on site <br />and the ordered tanker will be delivered in about a month. The brush medical truck will be delivered in <br />early winter rather than the earlier time frame promised. The Fire Department visited neighborhood <br />gatherings for National Night Out. He also updated on the remodel of city facilities to serve as interim fire <br />stations. He reported on the number of calls and response times from July 1 to Aug. 5. Council members <br />asked questions about the range of response times and a basis for comparison. <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORT <br />Council members asked for clarification on what constitutes Minnesota Open Meeting Law violations as <br />it relates to email.Attorney Mattick said “Reply All” should be avoided so as to not have an email <br />discussion,but a single Reply-All would not be a violation. He also said endorsements from the Council <br />dais during election season should be avoided. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR/ENGINEER REPORT <br />16.Administrator/Engineer Report <br />Edwards reported on street projects in the City that are finishing up and on other agencies doing street <br />projects in Orono, including Hennepin County.
