CITY OF ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 7503 <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION <br />WHEREAS,election judges must be paid at least minimum wage for work and training <br />(Minnesota Statutes § 204B.31 subd. 1); and <br />WHEREAS,election judges can volunteer to work without pay if they submit a written statement <br />at least ten days before the election (Minnesota Statutes § 204B.31 subd. 2); and <br />WHEREAS, the city of Orono can accept donations for the benefit of its citizens (Minnesota <br />Statutes § 465.03 et seq.); and <br />WHEREAS, election judges must receive training before working an election (Minnesota Rules <br />§ 8240.1300 subp. 1; and <br />WHEREAS, the city of Orono administered a primary election on August 13; and <br />WHEREAS, the donation of time has been offered to Orono for the benefit of its voters and <br />residents; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds it appropriate to accept the following volunteer time: <br />Name Volunteer Hours Description <br />Susan Bro 11.5 training, equipment testing, and election day shift <br />Lila Moberg 10.0 training and election day shift <br />Jean Slagel 2.0 training <br />NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council gratefully accepts the <br />volunteer time from Susan Bro, Lila Moberg, and Jean Slagel. <br />Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held on August 26, 2024. <br />ATTEST:CITY OF ORONO <br />_____________________________________________________________________ <br />Christine Lusian, City Clerk Dennis Walsh, Mayor <br />28
