 o
O ,, O CITY of ORONO
a
a -' RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
' n :s No. 6 1 9 0
G
kESH04
WHEREAS, the Orono City Council on November 26, 2012 voted 4-0 to
approve the CUP allowing alternative exterior finish materials based on the following
findings:
1. The brick-red rock faced block masonry materials comprising approximately 12%
of the exterior will resemble the brick finish on the other Crystal Bay Business
Center buildings in color and texture.
2. The architectural stucco panels will serve as a contrast to the masonry material
and will be of a color and texture similar to, and coordinating with the other
Crystal Bay Business Center buildings.
3. The proposed materials are of sufficient quality, durability, insulation level, and
strength so as to provide a suitable long-term faade that is visually compatible
with the surrounding buildings.
4. In order to provide visual variety along the faades due to the comparatively low
incidence of window openings in the building, it would be appropriate to provide
additional landscaping materials to provide that variety.
5. The exterior finish materials will mirror the other buildings within the Crystal Bay
Business Center campus with respect to color and texture.
6. The request conforms to the 15 conditions outlined within City Code 78-916
regarding issuance of conditional use permits.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Orono does hereby grant CUP Approval for the proposed industrial building's
alternative exterior finish materials at 450 Old Crystal Bay Road North subject to the
following conditions:
1. Ten (10) additional trees over the amount required by City Code Section 78-829
are required to be installed following the forthcoming site plan review.
2. If a building permit pursuant to this CUP Approval has not been issued within one
year after the date of this Resolution, the City Council may declare the approvals
granted within this resolution and within said Agreement as null and void.
3. The approvals granted in this Resolution shall become effective only when all
conditions of approval requiring actions by the Owner have been satisfied.
Adopted by the City Council of Orono this l Ot" day of December, 2012.
