Honuneyer - After-the-fact Application <br />Dear Ms. Strauss: <br />The City of Orono has no additional comments regarding the <br />sand blanket installed within th<* applicant's lakeshore yard as <br />long as the standards of the Department of Natural Resources are <br />satisfied. Upon inspection of the lakeshore yard, staff noted <br />retaining walls of approximately 2-3' in height installed along <br />the land side of the sand blanket. Such retaining walls require <br />conditional use permit and variance approval from the City of <br />Orono. <br />Mr. Hommeyer has been advised by the City of the need to <br />file an after-the-fact variance application for deck areas <br />installed within the 75' setback area. If the retaining walls <br />are to remain within his lakeshore yard, his application with the <br />City of Orono must be expanded to include the retaining walls <br />adjacent to the sand blanket. <br />Please contact my office if you have any questions <br />concerning the issues discussed above or if you need additional <br />information from the City. <br />Sincerely, <br />Jeanne A.
