LAKE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />Progress Report* Aug - Dec, 1989 <br />November- Proposed contract for service to barge weeds to shore from <br />December weed harvesters to improve weed transport efficience was <br />(combined) approved to include advertising for bids. <br />i <br />Weed harvester equipment in final weeks of being fully main­ <br />tained following the 1989 operating season. <br />Project manager to undertake the 1990 weed harvesting operation <br />was approved for purposes of seeking candidates to serve on a <br />part time basis, undertaking the major responsibilities carried <br />out by the executive director during 1989. <br />Resolution to a silt build-up concern expressed by a Minnetonka <br />Beach resident near the Areola Bridge channel was approved by <br />a letter explaining the boat traffic changes to assist the situation. <br />Charter boat study sub-committee meeting to prepare recommendations <br />to the Board in January. <br />Management Plan presentation to public officials/agencies was <br />well received December 2, setting stage for some plan segment <br />reviews and completion of Intergovernmental Relations and Funding. <br />Comment period for Minnetonka Boat Works Orono Environmental <br />Assessment Worksheet ended 12/13, report to Jan. 24 Board meeting <br />will show no objections having been registered to the expansion. <br />Designated THE SAILOR newspaper as the 1990 LMCD official news­ <br />paper for legal notices, using WEEKT,Y NEWS and THE LAKER for <br />additional communication as appropriate to the notice.
