Roll Call <br />Members present: David Cochran, Chair, Greenwood; Marvin <br />B.jorlin, Tonka Bay; Jan Boswinkel, Secretary, Minnetonka Beach; <br />Bert Foster, Vice Chair, Deepliaven; James Grathwol, Excelsior; <br />JoEllen Hurr, Orono; Douglas Babcock, Spring Park; John Lewman, <br />Treasurer, Minnetrista; Tliomas Martinson, Wayzata; Robert <br />Pillsbury, Minnetonka; Robert Ra.. 3 *p, Shorewood; Thomas Reese, <br />Mound; Robert Slocum, Woodland. Also present: Eugene Strommen, <br />Executive Director; Charles LeFevere, Counsel; Cliff Schmidt, <br />Hennepin County Sheriff’s Water Patrol; David Arndorfer, <br />Consul tant. <br />Member absent: John Malinka, Victoria <br />3. Reading of Minutes: Grathwol moved, Reese seconded, approval <br />of the minutes of the October 25, 1989 regular neetirig as <br />submitted. Motion carried unanimously. <br />4. Public Comments: There were no comments from persons in <br />attendance not on the agenda. <br />5. Reports <br />A. Chair Cochran <br />1) Eurasian Water Milfoil. Task Force <br />Cochran reported Reese, as Chair, will handle agency <br />relationships with the task force. BJorlin will serve as <br />operations vice cliair and the funding vice chair has yet to be <br />designated. Cochran requested consideration by the Board members <br />so the vacancy can be filled within the week. <br />2. LMCD-DNR Shorcland Contrf'ict and Comprelicnsive Management <br />Plan Funding Propvisal <br />The Executive Director furnished the Board with a <br />summarization of t.lie DNR’.s offer to provide partial funding for <br />the Comprehensive Management t'lan (Bhoreland section) and LMCD to <br />serve as the managing agency for involving its 14 municipal <br />communities in the; adoption of tlie revised statewide Shoreiand <br />Rules. The lump sum amount for the two programs will be $100,000 <br />as detailed in the report dated November 29,1909. <br />John Stine. Regional Hydrologist, MN Department of Natural <br />Resources, stated the grant propo.sai is mutually beneficial to <br />the MN DNR and LMCD in that it will provide the MN DNR with a <br />local coordinator and as.sist the LMCD in payment for the <br />Management Plan.
